*Recipe books: the food included on the poster (kimchi, piaparan, saluyot nasi goreng) are a part of Gantala Press published cookbook, MAKISAWSAW. The book was inspired by the violent dispersal of the Marilao-plant workers of the Philippines’ leading condiment manufacturer, which led to the widespread boycott of NutriAsia products. This book shows us how eating can be an agent of change and a site of resistance.
*BLTX Fair: the Better Living Through Xeroxography Fair is an annual small press fair organized by The Youth & Beauty Brigade and Gantala Press. At this fair and fairs like it, authors and creators find a place to sell and celebrate their work, which may not be accepted in mainstream avenues. Titles of the past have included: 'SoliDarItY', Food Security, Land Conflict, Agrarian Reform, and Women & Queer.
*Authors Joi Barrios, Amanda Echanis, and Mixkaela Villalon: Authors who have had their work published by Gantala Press.
This poster was included to represent the continuation of resistance today in the Philippines small press industry.
